Meet Bailey Goodenough: Inspiring the Next Generation at Wylie ISD

Bailey Goodenough is a dedicated middle-school teacher at Wylie Independent School District and a proud member of the Goodenough family. With a passion for education and a strong commitment to student development, Bailey teaches Texas History, United States History, and an innovative course titled Interpersonal Studies—a class that focuses on communication, empathy, conflict resolution, and relationship skills.

Bailey brings history to life in the classroom, encouraging students to connect past events with the present and to think critically about the world around them. Whether it’s exploring the battles of the Texas Revolution or analyzing the foundations of American democracy, Bailey creates a learning environment that is both engaging and inclusive.

What sets Bailey apart is the ability to connect with students beyond academics. Through the Interpersonal Studies class, Bailey equips young learners with real-world tools they’ll carry into high school, college, and their careers. The course emphasizes emotional intelligence, teamwork, and problem-solving—skills that are becoming just as essential as academic knowledge in today’s world.

Beyond the classroom, Bailey is known for being a compassionate mentor, always willing to go the extra mile to support students and their families. Whether organizing school events, participating in community service, or simply offering a listening ear, Bailey exemplifies the heart and spirit of a true educator.

In a time when education is more important than ever, Wylie ISD is fortunate to have someone like Bailey Goodenough guiding students through their formative years with purpose, integrity, and care.
