Introducing The Anthor: A New Voice for Abilene and Tech

What began as a small local effort to share community updates has grown into something much more. Today, we’re officially launching The Anthor — a fresh, bold rebrand of what started as Abilene Facts Network on May 2, 2025.

If you’ve followed us since the early days, you’ve watched the transformation in real-time. From school board recaps and infrastructure updates to deep dives on servers and open-source software, we’ve never been afraid to talk about it all. In June 2025, we merged with The Anthor brand — a name that better reflects our evolving scope, tone, and ambition.

What Is The Anthor?

The Anthor is more than just a blog. It’s commentary, coverage, and conversation about the things that matter — in Abilene and across the tech world. Whether we’re writing about district policies or distributed systems, our approach is the same: clear, candid, and rooted in curiosity.

We cover:

  • Abilene and Local Affairs
Schools, city planning, public meetings, small businesses — if it impacts the community, we’re on it.

  • Tech and Digital Culture
From server hardware and software development to internet subcultures and digital rights, we bring analysis and opinion with depth and nuance.

And we’re just getting started.

Why the Merge?

The name Abilene Facts Network served us well. But as we began publishing more tech-related pieces and taking on broader topics, we needed a name that wasn’t confined to geography or genre. The Anthor reflects our dual focus and our unique style — part analyst, part author, always independent.

What Comes Next?

We’re publishing new content regularly, with an eye toward weekly updates and special reports. Expect articles that go beyond headlines — pieces that ask better questions, dig deeper, and connect the dots between local events and global trends.

Join the Conversation

Whether you’re a student in Abilene, a sysadmin in Austin, or someone curious about both schools and servers, The Anthor is your space. Read. Share. Comment. We welcome sharp ideas and respectful debate.

This is our next chapter — thanks for being part of it.

Stay tuned.
